Antipodean Blogging By Post

I received my package from Cindy in Melbourne yesterday (I would have got it sooner but I was out of town) and I was more than satisfied. Thank you so much! I got a packet of wonderful Smith’s sausage flavored potato chips which, yes, tasted and smelt like real BBQ snarlers, like Barbra’s these were gobbled up by Megan and I almost before the top of the box was lifted. Next was the most beautifully soft and fruity Victorian Oliver Groves Manzanillo Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is simply delightful and is going to dress the salad we will have with dinner tonight. Next to be unwrapped was the Outback Red Berry Sauce (which I may need some help using - is it for savory or sweet dishes. This was followed by the Screaming Seeds Spice Co ‘Outback Blend’ a mix of ground cumin, coriander, garlic, cardamom, turmeric, cinnamon, sea salt, native mint, cayenne pepper and island celery that I will be trying with deep fried tofu fingers in the next few days. Last but not least was the Jefferson Tea ‘Australian Arctic Fire’ tea blend which won a gold medal at the Royal National Fine Foods Awards and is a blend of Australian black tea, cornflowers and mint, YUM! All of this was accompanied by Epicure, the pull our food and wine section from the Melbourne Age. The article on the professionalism of the hospitality was excellent (a must read for anyone in or interested in the industry) and the section on soups equally so. Thank you so much for sending the parcel Cindy, I hope you got mine in one piece.
