2007 Saint Clair Pioneer Block 'Bay Block' Syrah
Bridge Pa (Ngatarawa) Triangle, Hawkes Bay
This is a very good, modernist Hawkes Bay Syrah. Bright sweet fruit - rasberries, blackberries and boysenberries and soft, dry, dusty tannins with nice spice, earth and soft florals. Not as much structure as something from the Gimblett Gravels or Hillside but very exciting none the less.
